Become a Dental hygienist

Good luck to all of you guys.
I must say this is a very rewarding career.
I have enjoyed being a dental hygienist for many years.

We got my financial aide confirmation today. I’m going to take English, History, Sociology, & psychology. Not too heavy a course load just yet. It’s a good thing too seeing that I wouldn’t have been able to afford the books. Almost all the books were first editions, just published, so we wouldn’t have been able to find used ones.

Nervous but excited.

Well we pulled out an emergency loan at the school for tuition but if the fafsa comes through it will cancel it out. I really need the fafsa to come through or I can’t afford my books as they’re all new books rather than something you can find used. The books cost at least two hundred and fifty dollars which makes me wince.

If worst comes to worst I won’t attend this semester but the one after it. Who knows Shruggs.

We went and after standing in line for over an hour were told we had to leave & come back tomorrow because we needed to receive an e-mail that gives us our school password to proceed(to get financial aid).

Oh, we were MAD! My family and I are wondering if we’ll have to wait & sign me up for the next semester rather than this one. I’M REALLY ANGRY although rather than throwing things & swearing I’m sulking and boiling under the surface.

Reminder wear good shoes rather than those awful sandals. I think they must finally be too small or something. If you have to stand bad shoes are a nightmare.

I’m going to leave in a couple of hours to go see this college and choose my classes. I wonder how many classes will point directly to my dental hygienist degree and which are just nonsense but required anyhow. I dressed up just to help calm my nerves…I figure if I look nice even if I make some goof ups I’ll be better received.

If all goes well I’ll be a Dental Hygienist in a little over three years. Crosses fingers :)

The lightning flashes, shadows writh, and you approach the creepy building. Underneath your arm are all your paper; transcript(check), Fafsa papers(check), a school catologue filled with a list of classes offered(check), and finally your courage_ wavering but there_ (check).

“We’re off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz…” You start humming hoping you won’t faint.

AH Hah! Eureka, we have found it. You open the door and stare at the very unintimidating figure gesturing for you to take a seat. Breathing a sigh of relief your day begins.

After changing my major a bunch of times, I am now currently a Biology major at UCF. After UCF, I plan on going backwards and go to either BCC or SFCC to get my dental hygiene degree and become a dental hygienist! I like BCC’s program because for the first 10 months, you work to get your dental assisting degree, and then 12 months after that, you get your dental hygiene degree. I like SFCC because you get to work with UF’s dental school. With the BCC program, you work with Nova’s dental school, which I don’t think is as good at UF’s. However, if I go to BCC, I won’t have to spend $$$ to get an apartment; I can just live at home. This is the very first time I have ever felt confident in my future, so hopefully I’ll stick to it.

I keep changing my major and it’s time for me to transfer to USF and finish majoring in psychology, as a Jr or go back to my original major , which is dental hygiene. So I made up my mind—Dental Hygiene it is. I just quit massage school 2 months ago.It was to much pressure to go to 2 schools, work and raise my 5 yr old son. So I’m not changing my major again. Later i might become a dentist.
