If you have the chance to see this magical place you really should go. I love it there and hope to go back soon.
How I did it: We had the time of our lives in Kauai and want to go back soon. Here's a report of our May 2008 trip: (link removed)

Kauai is a great island if you want remote. I mean, we’re talking waterfalls, hiking, lush green mountains set against ocean landscapes, ziplining, the best fish and fruit you’ll taste anywhere. Still, if you are at ALL into nightlife, go to MAUI or OAHU because the sidewalks roll up at 10 pm or earlier, NO EXAGGERATION.
BEST Botanical gardens in the US and well worth making time for. I just spent two weeks there with friends and we felt it was an island oasis but were jonesing for something remotely South Beach or LA towards the end of the trip.
A MUST DO if you love the outdoors.
