look people in the eyes

Maybe I’m just not actively thinking about this one enough to cross over and make it into a habit, but I am not getting anywhere with this goal. Perhaps I already do look into peoples’ eyes? I’m going to be monitoring this one this week, because I don’t feel like I’m making any progress. We’ll see how it goes…

It sounds so simple, but I just don’t always look everyone in the eye when I talk to them, and why not? Am I hiding something? Am I afraid, holding back? Eyes are gorgeous, and I really do believe you can see into peoples’ souls whilst looking into them.

Yeah, I can never look people in the eyes without feeling sick or in trouble..
Especially when they tell you to look into their eyes.:(
I can’t look any teachers, parents or anyone above me in the eyes without feeling that there is something bad I did.

I can’t even look my friend’s in the eyes..
I was talking to my friend in an honest open conversation and I can’t seem to look into his eyes to say that I mean what i say.
I really did coz I don’t like lying.
but I can’t do it..

It’s just to weird.

I looked people in the eyes a lot today. I believe it made somewhat of a difference, not sure in what way though. It felt like the conversations I had went smoother and had more natural flow.

One thing to think about though is to not stare at people you don’t know. Only look people in the eyes if you are talking to them (or if they are looking at you). Is that a good rule to live by?

Its freaking hard to act natural if you have to keep defining to yourself what’s natural.

My therapist told me that was the next step for me, in order to become more trusting and improve my ability to feel at ease with intimacy…well, it took me a while to get enough courage to do it, and some days i still shy away from eye contact, but i can tell that it really improved my relationships. And it makes creating new bonds much easier. keep trying, it’s more than worth it!

i have major issues looking people in their eyes. i think it’s an insecurity thing. i really need to get over it though, because eye contact is such an important part of communicating.
