David Cohen working 12 hour days...but that's not a complaint...

140/90 on April 5, 2009 3 months ago

No that I have lowered my daytime pulse to 60, I need to lower my BP down to 120/80. 140/90 is too high. I will up the exercise, lower salt, increase raw food, take B5 and hawthorne berries – and get right back to you.

IronVine is fighting the good fight.

I said it's not worth it but - 3 months ago

- what I mean is that it was a false alarm. It really cost me in terms of wasted worry. But, it did get me motivated to exercise more, so I guess it was good.

This is an ongoing effort that needs better results.

So far the trend is in the right range…

I have managed to see 138 over 92 last week…

A High Normal for my Systolic and a Mild Stage 1 for my Diastolic.

One day at a time…

When the nurse took it, it was 150/104…when the doctor took it, it was 138/82. And that’s after being off the meds for 24 hours (I’d just run out of my pills). So it is going down, slowly.

Bit of a scary moment 6 months ago

...when I got out one of my pills to take yesterday, went to the kitchen to get a glass of water to take it with – and came back to find that the cat ate my pill! Fortunately, after a panicked call to the vet, it turns out he would just be a bit woozy for a while, but that’s it, and he’s fine today.

to consistently work on getting my blood pressure down to a healthier level. It’s borderline high but I know that now is the time to do something about it before it goes any higher. The best thing I did for my blood pressure yesterday was to emphatically speak up for myself when I felt someone was being manipulative at work. Because I was directly affected by the situation I addressed the issue directly and felt great about it when it was all over. There were some surprised looks when I left the room but, hey, they’ll get over it…and my blood pressure probably dropped a couple of points because I didn’t hold it all in.
