I have Situational B.P. (Sounds like an infomercial).
Unfortunately it is a fact.
Recently I signed up to be a Lab Rat to try and help my worsening arthritis pain.
One of the great side effects is that you get a lot of free blood work and clinical tests to establish base lines and to measure if there have been any changes.
Lab work that often costs a fortune when it is on your insurance/doctor’s time.
So…
My blood pressure now that I am in an environment where they don’t change my meds every time it is high (evil side effects from Blood Pressure meds)...
IS WAY DOWN
As in 110/70 down.
Dang people!

I am not sure what my BP is but I am sure that it is high and I want to lower it 3 weeks ago
Since this goal is really a side effect of my other weight loss goals I am moving this to my “I give up list which I really treat as my someday/maybe list” with the plans of marking this off as done once I’ve lost the weight to make it a reality. 6 months ago
Supposedly, you can see results after losing just 5% of your body weight. Since I’ve now done that (9.5 pounds lost in ten weeks from 188 pound starting weight.)
125
81
Pulse: 72
That’s still a little higher than my 120/80 goal, but it’s definetly an improvement. Another 9.5 pounds lost and. I might be “normal.”
I’m also trying to lower my stress and get more sleep, which should also help.
I tried again and got 124/83 and then 129/85. This home machine averages three readings. I’m surprised it’s not more consistent.
Since 135/85is the official high blood pressure cut off, I think I’m now in the high end of the normal range, even though my BMI is still on the high end of overweight. (My BMI was in the Obese range, so lower that may have helped too.) 8 months ago
Strangely, there seems to be a link, only in women, between less sleep (5 hours or less per night) and hypertension. Women who sleep seven hour or more per night are less likely to have high blood pressure. Ther is no such link in men. Guess, I’d better start going to bed earlier. 9 months ago
Evening before bed:
130
87
Resting heart rate: 80
According to the booklet that came with my blood pressure monitor the upper limit for systolic is 135 mm Hg and for diastolic it is 85 mm Hg.
I’m not sure how accurate this is, but the second reading that I just took is 126/87 with a heart rate of 85.
Now it’s 133/98 with a heartbeat of 80.
I better read the directions again. I think I’m doing this wrong!
Yup, that was wrong. You supposed to be sitting with your arm resting out in front of you on the. Table. Here’s the new data:
127
86
Pulse: 78
Thisq seems to be at the high end of normal. 120/80 looks like what I should be shooting for. 9 months ago
recently (well its been a month or so..) I’ve been getting up and feeling dizzy, my mother believes its because i’m getting up to fast bu even if im getting up from a chair or to get out of my car i half to lean on something to stay balanced. It started out of no where and i’ve looked it up online and they say its because of unstable blood pressure. I haven’t been to the docter yet and i don’t wanna worry anyone but could my blood pressure have something to do with this? 11 months ago

I’m 24, completely normal weight and have a fairly healthy lifestyle (no caffeine/cigarettes, lots of fruit & vegies, I walk a lot because I don’t have a car) but I’ve now officially been diagnosed with high blood pressure.
I have a family history of it (and stroke), plus lots of anxiety problems so I suppose it’s not entirely unsurprising.
I work in a hospital and see a lot of stroke and cardiac patients so I know the long-term consequences… and I’ll be careful to try and control it. It’s just so annoying to have to be so careful with my diet at my age – I’m already on low wheat and low-fat dairy because of my IBS :( 17 months ago
I’m so happy! My blood pressure was finally low enough (about 130/90 but I’m always very nervous so probably lower than that) but the doctor did add a new medicine but I’m fine with that, since my blood pressure tends to fluctuate a lot and I still don’t FEEL like it’s low enough but apparently it is so I’m marking this goal as done! Yay! 21 months ago
I played soccer yesterday. Looks like I’ll be doing it every week…
Ran around quite a bit, was pretty lousy at it, but hey, who cares? I had fun. 2 years ago
