John arboretum today maybe?
I try to smile and say hi to everyone I make eye contact with. Some people don’t smile back or say anything but I think it makes the world a little better.
How I did it: Make eye contact and really light that face up. Enjoy it and they will too. You do not need to say more than "hi" or even just a happy wave.
Lessons & tips: It is all yours.

Most recently smiled at an elderly couple gardening. They looked so happy!
peaceatoms is trying to enjoy life.
i passed a woman who was walking with two little kids in a stroller. she looked sad so i smiled at her. she looked a little taken aback but i hope i made her feel a little better.
to do this whenever I walk past people on the footpath. Sometimes they smile back, other times you can see them trying to work out if you’re someone they know…
I was once told that I am intimidating and very unapproachable. I ended up dating the guy that said this to me for 5 years so perhaps this was his pick up line – in any case I decided to try to change that. I don’t walk around with a scowl mind you, but I decided that if I thought pleasant thoughts while walking the dirty, overcrowded, NYC streets perhaps the twinkle in my eye would at least make my eyes look like they were smiling. I tried this out a few times- and much to the amusement of my sister- it WORKED!!! I haven’t done this in years and thinking about this story actually makes me want to walk right onto tourist-infested Canal street and try it out once again.
but the chances of recognition are low if you do this somewhere where most people are sad or angry, like London. I used to be quite preoccupied with how difficult it was to get people to smile in London!
I do this everyday. Old people love it :D
I’m just a smilecase I guess, I do it for no reason. Maybe there’s a reason.
Damn, ask me later on that one. :P
What a great feeling to spontaneously smile at someone and have them return it! I’m going to leave this on my list because I want to do it again (and again!)
I will try to do this at least 3 times a day. It may be difficult for me to smile at unknown person but maybe later will be easier :)
