I didn’t send a Father’s day card this year. I should have done. I still have issues. I kid myself that he wouldn’t want to receive one anyway – but logic and my heart both say that he would really.

I should get over his not being there when I was growing up.

My dad is pretty much a stranger to me since he worked away until I was 10, then my parent divorced. I think I actually saw more of him after the divorce than before, but he’s always (as far as I can remember) been ‘remote’.

However, he is human and did what he had to do. He’s really not so bad.

He commented on my blog for the first time recently – I was really touched. I’ll send a card anyway and put some of my thoughts down in it…
