As much as I’ve enjoyed learning a little bit about seven flowers this week, all things must come to an end.
I will, however, continue to photograph the beautiful flowers that keep springing everywhere —and find a little bit about them while I’m at it. But for now, this goal will be marked as done!

This native plant of South America and New Zealand has just started blossoming along with the summer. Its name is in honor of Leonhard Fuchs, a German physician and one of the founding fathers of botany. The color fuchsia, hence, originates from this flower’s color.
This flower has filaments dangling as pendulums surrounded at the top by a purple inner rim of petals. The color purple symbolizes spirituality, creativity, mysticism, intuition, and beauty.

The lupine’s flowers start to bloom in June. They are very unique in the way that they blossom in tiny capsules attached one next to the other to its main stem.
Its blue color represents peace, truth, and cooperation.

This past April, we took a day trip to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival where I was blown away by the extensive fields of tulips. These continuous agglomerations of flowers project such a massive color that, seen from the distance, it gives the impression to be a fence or something unreal. But once you get closer, the spectacle is simply breathtaking.
Though one associates the tulips with the Dutch, this flower is actually native of the Middle East. The red color represents love, passion, respect, and courage —sentiments which the tulip takes further with its boldness and its solid color.

In the spirit of last year’s flower avatar week —and since I’ve been so passionate about the gorgeous spring flowers here in Seattle—, I decided to hop on and join this goal for a week :o)
To add a sense of purpose, I’ll also pick seven of those flowers and research to identify them.
Here’s the Daisy, which is one of my favorite flowers. It’s such a happy flower, and it brings you into such a good mood… :)

All you have to say is beautiful flowers and I’m there. Heck, I’m so excited I just might start bathing in flower petals this week. Somebody has to take these things to extremes and live up to the definition of eccentric damnit!
F.Y.I. – Anybody who knows me at all knows I love snapdragons and so I shall start off with the obligatory snap snapshot for my avatar. Pretty sure that means I win.
