See an albatross in the wild

I went on a tall ship from the Tasman isles to the Australian mainland when I was nineteen. It was a rough and cold ocean, filled with sun fish and whales and even a black shark which snaked its way past the vessel. An albatross flew over, hovered for a second on a current of air under the Australian sky with nothing but sea between us and antarctica. Everyone should see an albatross once in her life.
