work was more successful. i did the MT tress, job and intranet org. i lost a bit of steam on those last 2 projects, but i did get alot of planning done.
personal, i found i didnt have to change banks, ive been working on my adjectives project, and i still havent made a dr appointment. i did make a list of thing to do in the future, although i STILL havent updated my cv/resume. i suppose since im not really looking for a job yet, its ok, but i really should get it done.

well, that was a bit of an ambitious list, and i didnt quite make my goals.
an honest review is:
- i may have expected a bit much, considering regular class work
- must budget real time for real relaxation
- i didnt try hard enough to keep a regular exercise routine
- an unexpected personal event really interrupted my schedule for myself (staying out too late, hanging out too much) but thats not an excuse for getting of track. just gotta get back to the schedule and alot x amount of time for hanging out, but cant really go over that
- i didnt update my CV (but i did join linkedin) or make a dr appointment
- i did submit another abstract for a grad research fair
- someone at work had to leave due to a family illness, so the work goals were better off, but i havent done the intranet org, or gotten totally up to speed on pubs yet (and thats a publications team, people, not pubs like bars)
so…feb goals…coming soon to an entry near you.

so, considering i leave for the conference tomorrow, and when i get back, the normal work/class schedule resumes, heres my report to myself…
- i am prepared as i can be for my presentation and obligations at the conference. i do not feel secure in my knowledge, but i think that is more personal than actual preparedness.
- i did not update my cv. i had the time for it, but not the psychological energy. this must be a priority for january; there is simply no way around this. the sooner i do it, the sooner i will be able to shop around.
- i did not complete the ruhlen tree, but i did get 1/3 of the way done with it, including getting through a very confused part in the himalayan subgroup.
- the smaller things: moved the plants, orged the pics, started to read up on meditation, although i am not meditating yet. i have been exercising almost daily, more like about 4-5 times a week, which is fine for me now.

i moved my plants, and started the ruhlen tree. im sitting down to begin for the presentation, but obviously procrastinating. havent started reading up on meditation yet, but did get my pics organized, and have at least looked over both my old cv and resume.
getting there. this should be a good weekend. although im house sitting, and not getting an internet connection there, so its a bit bothersome to jump between houses, just to get work done and take care of my friends dog while shes away. i am exercising, but i really enjoy it, so its not difficult for me to prioritize it. i just have to not procrastinate daily to get it done – to remember to do my more cerebral work and use exercise as my break period, rather than have it be the focus of the day.

and, most importantly, in this order:
1. create a schedule for this list!!
2. prepare for my presentation in january.
3. exercise daily (not just when im stressed or have crazy energy to burn)
4. update my cv
5. start and complete the ruhlen tree before lsa
of less importance, but priorities for now:
1. organize the pics for the project.
2. move my plants over to the new apt.
3. begin to read up on meditation

i dont necessarily have a system for this. im doing it more b/c i have this looking at me as a reminder. perhaps thats all it takes.
ive made all my deadlines, or notified people when i cannot make them for some reason. im also learning how to complete a project (at work) and not be a perfectionist about it.
also learning to just jump into some heavy reading and be ok with the fact that i may either be a “slow” reader (ie, not finish more than 1 article a day) or not always understand the further implications of it. (but i gotta thanks t. daniel seely for learning to be ok with the reading hurdles.)
i think i need to create a few lists for myself: things i need to prioritize about my work-work, reading-work, and healthy living goals.

the day to day is a bit difficult. i get distracted too easily, or procrastinate b/c i think the task before is too big to surmount. but slowly i am chipping away.. making both my dr and dentist appointments is quite a start for me. now im obligated to do those things to take care of my body. i just have to figure out the day to day. and stop fucking around with this website and get some work done.

What does prioritization mean if you live in the present moment?
