Margaret Atwood is doing a book tour for Year of the Flood (which seems to be linked to Oryx and Crake, hurrah) in churches as a fundraiser for RSPB and Birdlife International – I was lucky enough to book before it sold out. It was surprising that her reading from a script was not as polished as I thought it might be, but she is still an awesome presence. She signed my books and I thanked her, feeling very lucky to have met her.

I met Margaret Atwood at the opening of the International Festival of Authors in Toronto.
She conducted an interview with Ian Rankin. It was very entertaining. Rankin was hilarious. Atwood was very monotone but her questions were entertaining and witty.
It really wasn’t as big of a deal as I thought it was.
