A career high for lost in general!!

There was a group of us (we’ll call them G, C, T, and D) that entered the quiz every week, for two years. We inevitably came fourth, so never quite enough to win.

In one of our last attempts, we finally did it! We won! The prizes were always blind (ie they made them up depending on whether they liked you or not). We won a bottle of the world’s cheapest vodka. We stayed on campus at this point, and stayed up very, very late “disposing” of said prize.

Cut to the next morning, and we join G, C, T, and D are on their way to class…:

G: I’m pleased we won the quiz last night.

C: Yeah, about time.

G: Shame about that fire alarm that went off at 5.30am.

T and D look at each other quizically

D: ...uhh… what fire alarm?

C: You didn’t hear it?

T: I guess not – thanks for making sure we were ok.

G: Don’t mention it.

As you can see, winning that pub quiz could have led to disastrous consequences, so it definitely wasn’t worth it.

We left before finding out exactly where we came … but we weren’t last and we didn’t win the round of drinks.

make sure you have your thinking head rather than drinking head on for tonight. Im going to eat oily fish at lunch time with a bit of Ginko thrown in for good measure! I’m doing the haka as I write this entry!!! ‘Ka mate Ka mate …..

So Tuesday’s work quiz was fun – electronic based with a whole round on moustaches – I aced the round on Pub games but the other team members refused to listen to my sage words… – still we came second and won a bottle of beer each – groovy baby!

Wednesday a charity quiz – our team was victorious we won by about 100 points – just crushed the opposition really – I felt I played my part – upset about getting the question about Advocaat wrong – Brandy – of course… Still we won :-)

One at work – tomorrow night.

One with a “friend” on Wednesday.

I will need all of my wits and probably somebody else’s as well – I wonder if I can find an inventive way of cheating…

We came 6th tonight – out of a mammoth 24 teams so felt very pleased with ourselves.

Tomorrow was to be the glory night! But – woe, two of the team can’t make it. The prize is slipping from my reach.

Our team won the 14th place round of drinks last week.

The week before we won the last place prize of a euro lottery ticket …

Next week I aim to be in the top 5!!

I am fairly regular at our local quiz in Bergen… we made it to second prize and won a few smaller things as well – but the first price would be amazing!
