visit the washington monument

I’m not really sure what to say about visiting the Washington Monument last Saturday (see the photo I took). I didn’t get to go to the top of it, though I wish I would have had the patience to wait in line to go do it. I felt excited when I caught my first glimpse of it when I got to DC. It’s impressive, and it quickly becomes a familiar, indispensible part of the city’s landscape. I got to go up to it and touch it (it just felt like touching a smooth, stone wall) and look straight above and contemplate its height. 2 years ago
