Okay, maybe worthless is a little harsh, but still…I’m sure that my comments will be viewed more as a reflection of my intellectual and philosophical shallowness than as a reflection on Nietzche’s work. I understand that Thus Spake Zarathustra is Nietzche’s pinnacle work and that it is a veritable wealth of philosophical thought, but I was simply lost throughout the whole ordeal.
I first came across this book when I started a course on existentialism. A little while later I found that it was prescribed reading for my intro to philosophy course, but it wasn’t until I saw Little Miss Sunshine that I decided to give it a shot. Well, my philosophy prof knew what he was talking about when he said it would be very confusing. For now, I don’t feel any more enlightened by reading this book, and I don’t ever see myself giving it another chance.
