How to go to a music festival

How I did it: Just finally went to the Jazz Fest here in Montreal. I hadn't been exploring the city and all the cool (very very cool) things it had to offer. Most of the performances are free- 350 in fact! I got to see Stevie Wonder for free!! It was sooo awesome!! Lessons & tips: Look to your local area! Resources: The tourist office, believe it or not. Best way to find out what is happening in your area. Sometimes just looking on the internet can be overwhelming or just not as helpful. |

Got really really excited at this, as they are two of my favourite artists in the world :) Then bought the tickets about a month later. How I did it: My first festival was Download Festival '04, I went with some classmates who had organised it. I saved up for the ticket and bought it online, packed all my shit the night before and then got a lift to Donnington with my friends. It's a pretty easy thing to do. How I did it: I’ve been to Donwload (Donnington) twice and Reading once. Definitely awesome. The atmosphere’s brilliant, everyone’s so friendly, and you feel like you have something in common with everyone around you. I’m hoping to go to Wacken sometime too… Read how I did it…

..Rock Werchter! This is the first time I’m going to a festival and it’s even more exciting because I’m traveling to another country with just my friends and no parents! And none of us will be 18 by then! It is definitely going to be a summer to remember :D

so I have gone to warped tour and other large concerts but never made it to an actual festivle. My best friend told me about this huge rave that is across a 35 acre park. It last from 2pm to 6am the next morning. Its all live music and light shows and techno beats and is kicked off by watching the sun rise over the river the next morning. I cant wait!

Sonshine, Lilith Fair, Earthdance are the music festivals Ive attended.
Glastonbury is a definite wish. Perhaps also the New Orleans Jazz Fest and SXSW…and any other festival that I hear about that sounds interesting.
Definitely trying to incorporate more live music into my life. Every day I listen to streaming EDM on the net, and I attend famous DJ shows when they come to town, but Im trying to get more concerts – and festivals of course – in there too~

it’s obviously too late to go anywhere now, but I went to the Newport Folk Festival last year and I’d love to go again, or someplace similar. It was gorgeous there, right by the ocean, and it was HOT! But I did get a nice tan, and listened to some good music, and I still can’t get over how gorgeous it was that day(: There was one stage that was right by the ocean, and there were boats all over the harbor that were just docked there, with people out on the decks just to listen to all the music for free.
Point: it was great, and I’d love to go back. :D
Butter Me Up

Yesterday I went to a music festival in Newcastle called “Fat As Butter”. It was AWESOME! There was so much music, alcohol, dancing, food, stalls and people. Its such an extreme overload.
I would suggest people don’t drink to much or it all flies past so quickly and you don’t remember all that much.
On a random note my gorgeous boyfriend told me he loved me whilst standing on a hill listening to music and eating over-priced food. It added to the original experiences of the day.
