Three bats spotted yesterday at twilight! Not sure if they’re from my bathouse, but all the more encouraging that they’re in the neighborhood.

I’ve got the fountain up and dripping, and as water sounds are also supposed to be a boon for attracting roosting bats, it may be helpful toward this goal.
It’s not exactly a water feature like the books say, but it may serve the same purpose.
Spring’s coming, and so should be the flying beasties!

it may be that it takes more time. It seems to me an ideal location; maybe in the spring when they all come back they’ll find it. I really want these guys to show up and fly through my airspace nipping the mosquitoes.

so, I bought a bat house that can welcome and house over 200 bats and placed it high on my west-facing chimney so that it gets the correct sunlight/heat and predator protection. Now comes the waiting. The mosquitoes are certainly plentiful, the bats should roost anytime.
