How to take voice lessons

DaringDaphne has been a non-smoker for 85 days and counting! :)

Ready to get started! 2 months ago

Now that I’ve quit smoking, I’m eager to get my voice back! I think I should make private voice lessons my reward for passing the two-month mark as a non-smoker. That gives me enough time to practice singing at home beforehand so that I won’t feel totally awkward going back to a coach.

Next on the to-do list for this goal: Find a good voice teacher locally.

I’m going to get a voice lesson at an upcoming music conference (mid-Sept). This will be a general analysis followed by recommendations for improvement and a referral to a teacher suited to my style and goals. Looking forward to it.

It’s great! I’ve taken almost 10 lessons now and my voice is really improving. Loving it

Ostensibly, we started out getting lessons for my daughter ... 6 months ago

... but it progressed from there! I highly recommend voice lessons, whether you’re a singer from way back (which I am) or new to the whole idea. I learned so much and had the joy of bringing singing back into my life! Yeah! (Thanks Ross!)

shy singer 11 months ago

I am always so shy. People have to beg me to sing before I open my mouth. They say I have a great voice and I remember when I was younger before I smoked and quit and before messing up my life a bit, I used to be able to sing everything, even opera, people were amazed. But I feel that I’ve lost a lot of it and that if I take the lessons I’m bound to get it back. Cheer me to go and DO IT!!
