Taradenise is pondering future goals.

drink more water... 4 weeks ago

My current daily caffeine consumption: about 30-48 oz. of Mtn Dew or Pepsi, which equals about 3-4 cans.

My goal: one can a day or about 12 oz.

No sleep... 7 months ago

Since I marked this as complete I’ve had two cups of tea and one coffee, at a Scouts sleepover when I was working the next day so I’m letting that slide. Plus, that was a couple of weeks back and I’ve had none since then.

Update 8 months ago

I’ve still had no caffeine since I marked this as done, which I’m really pleased about. There have been plenty of times when I’ve wanted a good strong coffee but have resisted well!

I’m marking this as done.
I’ve not had any form of caffeine, nor wanted any for quite a while and fully intend to cut it from my diet entirely. I normally have the odd cup of normal tea amongst several herbal each day, and I think that’s what causes the problems. I’ve realised I don’t crave coffee if I’ve only had herbal tea. Simple really, I feel silly for not thinking of it before.

I’ve had two coffees in the last two days, plus a couple of normal teas each day as well. Coffee in successive days is rare for me so today I’ve had nothing but peppermint.

I’ve had only one real tea today at lunch time, and at least four hundred camomile and spearmint ones, which were truly lovely. My head doesn’t hurt this evening like I’ve experienced a lot recently, I feel pleased about today.

New need... 11 months ago

My coffee intake would normally average out to a cup maybe once or twice a month, just when I fancy it. Tea I drink a couple of times a day, generally I drink herbal tea so that’s not so much of a problem.

Recently however, I’ve noticed myself wanting coffee a great deal more often, which I’m pretty sure I can blame on my stress levels lately (perhaps there’s another goal to make with that). I was a caffeine addict on and off during my teens (and as a result, a tetchy insomniac) so I would really like to knock this on it’s head before it starts.

I have finally quit caffeine! I have been addicted to it for about 12 years…but I finally quit. I decided to quit because over the past few years I had become dependent on it. I was also concerned that it could create health problems for me in the future. When I woke up every morning I wouldn’t be able to function without it, and then it would keep me up until about 3 or 4 am that night. Since I quit I now get tired around 10 or 11pm and go to sleep no later then 12 or 1am (on weekends!). I also get a much better sleep, and feel rested when I wake up. I’m not gonna lie…it was very hard at first with the withdrawals, but after a week I was fine (still craving it, but not as bad). It’s been about a mth and I only really drink juice or non-caffeinated sodas now. Looking at a caffeinated beverage disgusts me now. I think I’m done for good. I still don’t drink much water…but Its a push in the right direction so far. I will start drinking water soon tho. But I do feel great! Anyone who hasn’t quit caffeine really should! =]

already started on that one: I quit drinking coffee in the morning (used to drink 2 big cups for breakfast). switched to tea. Now I still drink one smaller cup in the morning and one after lunch. I want to cut back to only one cup in the morning. or none. One exception though: nothing beats a cup of coffee when we have croissants for breakfast!
