I love candles and every thing that goes with them. The more the merrier. One candle is not enough to get the full effect of relaxation. You need a medley of dancing shadows and fragrances mingled together to come to that space of tranquility as far as I am concerned. I make love them I make them and I recommend them for spiritual growth and serenity as well as mind and body balance. How beautiful a bathroom full of these little babies would be. Perhaps a romantic evening dinner for him or her. This will set the mood without any other decor. “Where’s dinner?” It’s all about love for self and your fellow man or woman.

Asked the wife last night, to see if she would like to do this with me. Something we could all do together as a family. She thought it was a good idea too. Now, if I only had the first clue about how to do it, we’d be set. Time to do some research.
kmom2468 is knee deep in the hooah!
I made them when I was younger and again when my kids were young. It’s been a while, but I should do this again. I like making things, and since we live where the electricity could be out for days, it’s a practical thing to do, too. Besides, what is a bubble bath without candles? Also, I am alergic to many “perfume-y” things, so making my own allows me to control the fragrance type and intensity.
Candlemaking is thoroughly enjoyable. Melting the wax in the pot, brushing a wooden board with layers of wax. Enjoying the art of the timing of it all. An opportunity to make pieces of art that have a warm glow of light. You can always melt it down and try again. I have found, though, that the best progress made, is keeping your “mistakes” and lighting them. Without the mistakes, there would be no masterpieces. Hours of enjoyment in the making, and the peaceful thoughts while watching candles burn. Candlelight warms the heart and heals it slowly.
Morrocan Spiced scented candles in shot glasses and small tealight sized ones, I think it ended up being about 20 I made and I scattered them throughout the house to create the effect I wanted and it worked and everyone kept commenting on the lovely smell.
I wanted the house to be dark and myseterious and candle lit with rich aromas,it was a success!
Just so I could get the stuff cheaper, and I’m having fun with this one, I made apple and cinnamon read soy candles in champagne glasses for my upcoming “1001 Arabian nights” party.
I’ve just ordered more wicks and a new scent “moroccan spice” to make some more candles for the party.
Becaus they are soy candles though they have to be made in containers, so not free standing, so I need to experiment with other waxes and try some different ones… even brought a great book on how to make fancy candles.. I should get busy in time for Christmas!
DivsSA wants something amazing
It was during the school holidays, my sister, neighbour and myself would melt plain white candles in on of my moms pots, add crayons for olour then pour it into baking moulds to get nice shapes. They acually turned oout well
However, we made a really big mess, ruined a pot which my mom was not too mpressed about and I think even got urned or something.
A long time ago but still remember it, so it must have been a great time…
