I keep several prayer journals for each child and I feel this amazing connection to life… hard to explain, but it’s worth it. Especially to look back in the future to see the answered prayers and understand why some were not answered. A greater appreciation for live … I believe.

Life is a gift 17 months ago

I want to make everyday my masterpiece! Life is a gift and every day is precious. Even negative things in life happen for a reason, even if that reason will never be known in this life. I want to start keeping a prayer journal to keep track of prayers answered (regardless of the answer) and track how I have grown as a person.

I’ve started a daily 30-min bible study and prayer session following the IVP press study guides (http://www.ivpress.com/bible/today.php) since May 7th. I made 7-days consecutive without a miss covering the book of Joshua, although the week after that I didn’t do any study at all, missing the whole of 1 Timothy. I’ve just started doing it again today at the start of the book of Joel.

So far it’s been pretty good, but I find it hard to pick up again once missing a study, since all the studies are sequential. However, I’m not going to make that as an excuse, and shall keep working on it until I do this because I want to, not as a chore.

Also, forcing myself to do the study as soon as I turn on the computer has helped a lot. Otherwise, a procrastinator like me wouldn’t have a chance of doing something like this once I’m off the page where I’m suppose to be.
