Cornwall always held a magical sway over me because I had seen it on television and heard about it but never been, indeed I had never been any further west than Bath. But I went for a few days a couple of months ago to St. Ives and the surrounding parts and that was it. I fell in love. I’ve just moved back to London after three years of living in Brighton and I can’t begin to tell you how much I hate it, the noise and the people and the whole unreality of this sprawling, souless city. I want to move out to the countryside and Cornwall is better than any other. Maybe one day I could get a job in Exeter Uni or something, I don’t know.
