I did this in my early twenties, and the professor who taught at my local college was trying to recruit me for the womens’ fencing team. I found out it was because they were going up against Stanford women, and I went and saw them fence…
I regret chickening out and not joining. Sure, at the time they would have clobbered me, but I think about how much better I’d be now.
My shoulder started giving me trouble, so I had to quit for a while. Maybe some day I’ll join a senior circuit :P

_Belle_ is feeling much better now! I'm divorced! yay
Dave Zawislak stopped by to cheer me so I went to “visit” him…. He has “try fencing” on his list… thanks Dave for reminding me that I’ve always wanted to do this too!

i started fencing last year… and it is the best sport ever. its a good workout.. and a REALLY good angry release (depending on your weapon). it is easy to learn, but very difficult to master.

I didn’t really like it and wouldn’t choose to do it again
