organize my mp3s

This is going to take a long time, since I have over 15,000 songs. But the main thing I need to do is clean up the dead files, and tag some things correctly. Most of the songs are correctly tagged, since I tag them as they come in, and the folders are organized (which is about the only thing iTunes is good for). I also need to get rid of stuff I know I will never listen to and clear some space on my external hard drive.

i have loads of it and a lot of it i’ve not listened in years and probably won’t again or i have whole albums where i only like a handful of songs, so i think the time has come for me to slowly reorganise and delete what i no longer want or need! :)

Well Ive been looking for a music file organizer for ages! I have hundreds of mp3s all without order and some are even duplicates. Ive just recently come across a program ‘nerxy file organizer’ and I love it!
It automatically organizes my music files into folders using options of my choice AND it deletes any duplicate files I may have.

so i stayed up till 2 am… relabeling… as well as putting em in A-Z folders… i think i have OCD… lol…

next step is to keep em organized till like forever…

as well as getting em all in their own respective folders as well!
to make more room for more mp3s!

It’s mostly organized, but I want to re-label alot of the folders. Mostly what I want to do is go through and make playlists. I’ve got all the way from A to E! but it’s not much fun so I keep putting it off.

four hours later… mmmmmmmm everything looks the same.

Yesterday I went through and cleaned out all the duplicate songs in iTunes. While I still need to go back and find the songs that got eradicated when I transfered things back and forth, my iTunes is back to being functional and full of good music, which is all I really wanted. I still have missing songs, some of which are stuck on my iPod, but I have most of my music.

I got started on this one today by going through and re-starring my favorites. Next I want to gather up the ones I’ve listened to the most, and then I will delete the songs that no longer work. I also have a few songs that just didn’t make the transfer over, so I need to go through and either buy them again, or look around the house and see if I still have the CD somewhere…

I hate a disorganized playlist! It’s always so dificult to find things!
