I struggle to focus on a regular basis despite medication. I want to study harder but struggle to focus on it. I see others do this effortlessly and wonder if there is something wrong with me.

quitejaded feels really good!
How I did it: Firstly, I found out I have ADD. That explains a lot.So OTHER than having a pill that helps me focus so much better... (which I only took a few times... the natural way is much better!)I learned different things I should do and take to help calm myself. Its different for everybody. Just keep trying things until you find what works for you.I know a lot of people meditate, but that just really irritates me. When I do it by myself, it does n… Read how I did it…

How I did it: It took some time, going on and off off medications, adjusting to real life stress and separating out the over-anxious worrier part of me.I am down to sedatives at night, and have a pretty good schedule. I think I just went nuts not planning ANYTHING because it was summer. Good ol' fall, getting back in line! Read how I did it…

How I did it: • well restedsomething that was messing up my concentration was the lack of sleep, now I still on my way to get my biological clock to work within proper hours so I weak up more alert.• listsdoing first the things that need to be done and not thinking on the rest is easier with list, so I can put things away on paper not being afraid I'll forget them later, also is good because I can add thoughts to them if I get to have ideas. How I did it: Once it was on my list I was aware i HAD to do it sooner or later, so I decided that it would be sooner rather than later! I made myself an alomst impossible to complete to do list but I did it anyway (because I am so stubborn and always want to finish what I start) and completed it fully today! Read how I did it…

I’m sure if I focus on ONE thing at a time, instead of multi-tasking (unless multitasking really WAS appropriate and maybe even helped), then I might get more done. I find that I can be a bit scatterbrained, then if I jump from thing to thing and/or procrastinate….. well I end up being even more scatterbrained! I’ll try and focus! Can I do it?
Focus on ONE THING! Right now, it’s phone pictures onto PC..... not distraction to, let’s say, a sudoku puzzle (seriously I brought the book down and almost jumped to doing it – don’t know why – but then thought NO I’m doing this right now. Haha, see what I mean??).
I have been at work for about a hour now.
I walk in, go to my cell desk, turn on computer, while that warms up I put the tea in the tea pot, walk over to the coffee machine, put hot water into tea pot, walk back to said cell desk. I talk to my coworker about problems from previous day, fix my breakfast, look at emails while eating my breakfast, pour my tea, text back and forth with Em, check out what has been going on around 43T since I was here yesterday… might be time to do a bit a work. Some that sounds easy, huh?

I took me some time to get from vacation into action/working mode but I am there now and it’s a great place to be! Totally worth the effort and determination!
Don’t get me wrong here, being open to all types of opportunities has served me very well so far and I’ve been very fortunate to do a load of things and visit a load of places. But I’ve become lazy and complacent. All my other goals will come back to this one. It might take a while to achieve!
So, I listened to this from FlyLady (Focus makes me fabulous!), it lasts for 15 minutes and while it was on I wrote some of my diary. I think it did help to make me think, “I’m going to get my diary and write it”. I really do need to focus more often, FlyLady is right – we always try and go in 10 different directions, but babysteps, just focus on one thing for 15 minutes and it’ll be better!
I am commiting myself to keep focus on what I should be doing! Not being sidetracked and losing my way in what I know is important.
Its another start. :)
