there will be a wedding celebration – and I pieced together a quilt top for the members to sign and to commemorate the event. I finished it in just the right time. I am going to go drop it off so they can have it – I have to go elsewhere so I am not going to be able to participate.

I completed this and it feels good – so many times in the past I’ve not completed things (like the tree skirt goal and the shadow box goal!) and it feels good to not have to call up and say “Sorry, but I didn’t get that done!” I want to be more of that type of person who says, “I want my room to be yellow” and within the month they are sitting in their room which is now yellow! ~Not still sitting in their room a year later saying, “I wish my room was yellow!”

I did add a specific goal in relation to this goal that I hope will help it along to how I’d really want it – complete (non-stressed) ahead of time. Procrastination does tend to make my “completion ratio” lower. So, if I work on these two goals in tandem I might see double the benefits!

My advice: outsource your guilt and humiliation to someone you love and respect. The world is flat, after all. It’s what Tim Ferriss would do.

What do I mean, exactly? Simple: tell someone — tell lots of someones — what you’re doing, when you’re going to be done, how excited you are about it, how important it is to you, and so on.

Now you’ve got risk. You fail, and everyone is going to know. Put that fear of failure to good use! Now what’s going to prevent the negative payoff of everyone knowing what you want to get done: a couple solid hours of work, however boring, or “just one more” round of Desktop Tower Defense?

I’ll add a new list to follow up the previous list…I’m going DEEP on this damn house…plus adding some stuff I forgot..

    Annoyed! 2 years ago

I have so much to effing do and so little time to do it in. Frankly, it’s more than annoying. I got so much done this weekend and still have a mountain in front of me.

    1. Clean off the kitchen counter spaces

    2. Do the dinner dishes and put everything away (when you cook a lot, you get a lot of dishes).

    3. Clean out the stove

    4. Clean the refrigerator well

    5. Clean off the computer area

    6. Bring all the Christmas stuff up and start decorating, baby

    7. Organize the livingroom stuff, put away the sewing machine.

    8. Trudge through my inbox in my room.
    9. Wax my legs

    10. Pedi…(OK this may not seem important to you, but women are expected to be fabulous, and it takes work).

    11. Tomorrow, meet my client for house-searching in Pasadena

    12. Tomorrow, jog the Rose Bowl (I’ve committed myself)

    13. Tomorrow, go somewhere in Hollywood with the girls (I’ve committed myself but may have to back out).

    14. Shredding confidential docs. and those damn offers that come pouring in the mail.

    15. Return bread maker to garage

    16. Water all the plants outside (I can’t forget this, these guys need water…that’s not fair).

Uggghhhhh…I’ve got a crappy attitude at the moment…but I predict as I start crossing stuff off this list my outlook will improve.

Right now I’m about to pull a meatloaf out of the oven and eat…that will improve my outlook too.

Gosh, it feels good to vent!!!!!!

Cheers, darlings…you see, I’m all cheered up now.

I’m going to say I have not yet mastered the art of completion. I’ve accomplished a lot in 2006, but not what I started out saying I was going to do.
