brokennightmare wants life in every word to the extent that it's absurd!
I have an interview with Lucky magazine tomorrow! I have all my hopes up and fingers crossed.
How I did it: I had an internship with a music site over the summer, but when i saw the TONY listing I knew for sure I wanted to work there. So I sent in a cover letter resume set and was completely surprised that I got an email back for an interview the very next day! (and that never, ever happens)
so anyway, everything worked out and now i'm a happy intern.
Lessons & tips: know your market, when you apply. my reference to a relatively insider thing pertaining to the section pretty much was a big plus to my application. and enthusiasm shows even if you don't have that much experience.
