I finished The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho today. Although I am on the fence about the book, the author included an interesting interpretation about human hearts. Read pages 127-31.

There looms over every philosophy class the age old question, “If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, does it make a sound?” My answer to that is does it matter if anyone hears in the first place. Although I am writing this as if anyone it will read it, I care not that my intentive will be seen by anyone. I just want to say out loud that everything will be alright whether some is around or not.
