How to study Asatru and it's practices by Islay

"A fascinating religion if you can dig through the sludge and stigmas it has attached to it."

How I did it: Read everything I could find on the subject, joined discussion groups such as the Asatru List and talked to other people. Never did find a kindred though that was receptive enough to take a 20 some year old kid, but eh. 

Lessons & tips: Some of the people in it can really, really, suck. My biggest problem were two types of people you'll commonly run into: skinheads, and older male elitists... the type that think if you're young you're a Wiccan just looking to dress up like a Viking because you could never be able to comprehend a 1923 translation of the Edda. -.-

    Unfortunately, I’m rather alone in the heathen world, living in a relatively remote northern Canadian city.

    My studying is all lore and no practice…

    But they call Asatru “the religion with homework” for a reason and I love the challenge of learning it all!
