How I did it: I went with my boyfriend down to the local Animal Services and picked her out! She only cost $40 and she already had all of her shots and tests. It was a very smooth process. Lessons & tips: If you can, definitely go through an animal shelter or something similar, because it will save you a lot of trouble and money if your cat already has its shots. How I did it: A lady at my work adopted a stray that was pregnant and had to get rid of four kittens. Two of them were black, so I asked for the girl black kitty. Turns out Cupcake von Kittystrudel is a boy, though, but that's not a problem. I found a shelter in the southern suburbs of Chicago, and went and adopted a gorgeous little black kitten. I named him Casper. He is wonderful to have around. After a month with him, I think he’s the coolest cat! He’s very friendly, loves to purr, and even likes to perch himself on my shoulder!!! He’s definitely a climber.
