I have known three people to attempt the AT in full. None succeeded all found themselves on the trip. What a wonderful experience to have had. I can’t wait for my turn!

I love hiking and the outdoors. I’ve wanted to do this since I was 14… I know it will be tough, but that’s why I want to do it. I need a major challenge!

I’ve hiked pieces of the AT for years, but right now I am focusing on my beach house and life there.

I am currently section hiking south through Virginia with my brother. I feel really alive hiking the trail and I enjoy this activity and hope to complete the trail some day. Sometimes I’m so exhausted placing one foot in front of the other, my muscles screaming out with every step. I don’t know if going uphill or downhill is more painful. however, Enduring the elements, terrain and weather is very satisfying and I find myself dreaming of getting back to the trail.
This is something that takes total commitment to actually complete but, if you do it, your life will change forever. I quit my job, got rid of my apartment, put everything I won in storage and hiked the AT in 199 days and NEVER regreted it. I will be MORE than happy to share stories or advice to anyone who’d like it. Feel free to ask!
This is something I’ve wanted to do for many years and recently I’ve been getting more excited about it. I have read several books from others who have done the trail and now I just need to figure out how I can possibly take off six months and do it.
This is going to be a long-term goal for me. I have to accomplish a few things first. I need to lose some weight first, something I’m not very comfortable with doing.
i usually hike whenever i have the time during the week, and always on the weekends…my brother and i section-hiked the ct at and some of mass a few summers ago and it got me interested in going more often…i don’t have the resources to finance a six-month hike just yet, however…
