How I did it: not so much focus, as letting my energies become the wind around me. It definitely works better outside. So, a concentration of loosely focused energy
Lessons & tips: It's an on going learning and practicing process. Like anything, you can always improve, it's not like one day you will achieve something and be like "oh my gosh, i've done it!" no. it is not really 'accomplished' it is only done better. and the good side of the coin, progress is definitely notable, and usually comes in spurts.
Please note: some people are better predispositioned to preform aerokinesis than others. look at your hands. if at least one of them has a rectangular palm and long fingers, then you are good to go. otherwise, you might be interested in checking out some other psychokinetic powers, like pyro-, hydro-, or geo- kinesis. (if you can find a book on palm-reading, you can find out which one you're best suited for.)
Ok. First things first: find a place that you totally love. One that you're very comfortable in, where you feel nice and safe, and can trust your surroundings. For me, this place has been my bedroom, my livingroom, and my back yard. the only other requirements is that is be near a window, or outside.
ok, step one: observe. sit in your place for a while, and wait for the wind to pick up, naturally. experience what it feels like, sounds like, looks like, and even smells like. remember those feelings. Let them fill you. you ought to be able, after some trying and observing (maybe four or five experiences, depending on how connected you were to start out with) to feel something new filling you up, right in your chest, and also in the front and top of your head. You have to know your body very well. Make sure that you are not interrupted during your observing process. observe when you choose, and only when you choose. this will help you to rely on your instinct.
step two: when you have a feel for the wind, you get to know it. It helps, when you're a begginner, to start while it's already got a light breeze going. find that energy in your head, and try to make it grow. it will be like using a muscle that has fallen asleep. (in other words, fairly difficult.) don't worry, it gets easier over time. I often find it helpful to focus an emotion and try to channel it into my mind. How to do that: it's like when you're singing, or drawing, or dancing, or what ever it is that you find yourself to be good at, that you like to do when you need a release. you don't know it, but when your singing, or drawing, or dancing, ect, you're focusing your emotions into what ever it is that your doing. Now, try to re-direct them into your mind. try to stop thinking in words at this point. just feel. offer yourself encourage ment like that. those words are ok, but when you try to define exactly what you're doing, it stops the flow of energy. if you need to, tell yourself things like 'just do it' or 'feel.' until you are just doing it, and not thinking so much. by now, the wind ought to be going a bit. Don't get discouraged if it isn't. It takes multiple trys in some cases. You aren't doing anything wrong, you're just a beginner. keep at it, and you will notice things. you can do it.
side note:the best part is that so few people believe that aerokinesis exists (or even know what it is) is that no one can really stop you. you're free to practice this whenever. just, don't tell anyone in the beggining, unless you trust them implicitly and are positive that they will support and help you. if you do tell someone, and they don't agree with what you're trying to do, the negative energies that will naturally gaher around them may very well stop it from working. if you're dying to tell someone, say it in a joking manner to guage how they'll react first.
Ok, back on track : the first two steps took me about three months to half a year. Then again, I was figuring this all out on my own...
any how, before you move on to step three, preform this simple little thing to check if you're ready: go to your place, visualize how the wind feels and sounds, and looks, feel it in your head, and channel you emotion. now take a deep breath in, slowly. breathe from that place in your chest that you felt filling up earlier, right along your sternum. open your eyes a bit wider if you want to, or do something else simple like that, and then breathe out. do you notice a difference in the wind? if you do, even if it is very slight, you're ready to go on. if you honstly can't, that's ok, it just means you have to get more in touch with the wind. go back and observe some more, and experience the wind. Again, don't try to put words on the wind, just feel. practice is essential.
Ok, you've made it to step three? excellent. I'm assuming it is now a few months from when you've started this. pretty exciting buissiness isn't it? now you can move forwards.
Note: if you become extremely dizzy or light headed at any point in this excersize, and you feel as though you are going to faint, call it quits for a few minutes. i don't care how much progress you've made. it's not going anywhere, i promise. but, if you completely drain yourself, you have to stop for a much longer time than a few minutes to recharge. ( i would know. i did that one time. it was a really spectacular rain storm, and I expended too much energy and had to wait 3 months to even kick up a breeeze again.)
Ok, step three: go to your place, when it's not windy or breezy. get all comfy. sit or stand how you have been, however you've found works best for you. now, find your energy in you mind, and concentrate it. if you still need emotional aide you may use it. eventually you won't have to anymore. let the energies of the wind, which by now you ought to be rather familiar with, fill you. force your own energy into the part of your chest that you breathed from.close you eyes if you feel like it. it's not a decision thing, just if you need to, don't think about it, just do it.concentrate the energies in your mind and keep sending them into your chest. It's perfectly alright if you grow a little dizzy doing this. you will notice a change in your breathing pattern, steady, and rhythmic. you'll get it going, and get all charged up. this could take a while. that's ok. now breathe in deep and slow. if it feels wrong, then just work up to a deeper breath from your own personal rhythm. the air should begin to stir, just a teeeeeeny bit. that's good. don't get discouraged when it's not as huge a reaction as it feels like you're building up energy for. remember, you're still just starting. A tiny whisp of breeze is all we're looking for here. try and make the little pooffy breeze last as long as you can, don't break concentration until you can feel that your energies are out of you. now snap out of it and breathe normally. congratulations, you've just guided the wind into doing something you want it to. come back and try it again. I'd ony reccomend doing about 3 practices like this in one sitting. It takes a lot of time. For me, about 7 or eight months, possibly a little more than that.
Eventually, you'll be able to hold it for longer and longer. when you feel comfortable with that, you can move along to the next step.
Step four. get to where you're holding a short breeze. this is a really hard part: try to switch gears. you'll find that it feels subtly different when you're holding your own breeze than when you're given one and you rev it up. you've got to discover exactly how it's different for you, and then try to switch gears from staring your own, to going with what you've got. this part here is more difficult than the previous steps. it's also a little scary. eventually, you'll be struggling with a short breeze, and then all of a sudden you'll hear that distant sound of a rush of air, and then: whoosh. you've done it. exciting, yes? yes. very exciting. indeed you feel like you've accomplished a great deal. then you realize that you can't find the brakes. that's OK. you're not supposed to be able to do that yet. this step alone takes a month or so. when you want the wind to die down, for now, just stop thinking about it, and distract yourself with something else. Now, if you've managed what I've described, a sudden rush of wind after some stuggle, don't be let down if th next time you try it, you don't get it. sometimes it takes, other times it doesn't take and you have to try again. that's fine. just practice, practice, practice. and more practice. you get my drift.
Now, you learn direction.
Step five:the use of your arms and hands is helpful during this part.
Visualize the wind going which ever way you've been visualizing it going. now, the arm that is closest to the dirction that the wind is coming from, ought to be lowered and extended, with the palm of the hand parallel to the ground, fingers pointing in the direction that the wind is coming from. you should be able to really feel the wind going around it on the top and bottom. with ou fingers opened or closed, depending on which you feel more comforatable with. Your other hand ought to be raised a bit, a little higher than your head, with your elbow bent a small amount, and the palm of your hand facing the direction that the wind is going to. face your head towards your raised hand. your bady shoul be turned so that it causes as little air resistance as posible. if your body were a sail, your boat should not be moving. feel the wind rush along your body like a track, coming in from your lower arm, and out through your raised arm, you can adjust the hieghts of your arms a bit, to get more comfortable with your stance. when you feel almost a part of the wind, and the wind of you, then very slowly begining to turn, while your mind is in the wind-producing state. feel it turn with you. slowly. if it doesn't come with you right away, try again. remain relaxed. by the time you're doing directional, you should no longer need a very strong emotional aide. you just have to go to your inner wind place. remember, you are not controling the wind, you are simply guiding it, and making it stronger. this will not take quite as long to achieve as the other steps. if it does, regress to the previous step until you are very sure of yourself, and you have an absolute knack for it, and then try again. when you succeed at this, the wind will, albeit somewhat jerkily, go in the direction that you want it to.
Now, try it without your arms. get up a good wind, and after it's nice and strong, picture it going the another direction. revisualize it shifting, slowly. The wind will slow, and take a new direction. if you have a good concentration, it will go closer to the direction that you want it to. keep at it, and keep at it. The wind will gradually shift directions to where you want it. Practice this until you can do this a bit more quickly. this will take time.
about two months later:
you should be fairly good at directional by now. This is the part where you learn how to put on the brakes suddenly.
Step six: Get up a nice wind. now, picture it going in exactly the opposite direction that you've got it going in. Don't picture it turning, so much, as folding back on itself. the wind will slow very much. now, before it starts going int the opposite direction, take a medium-deep breath in and a quick release breath. shake your head or blink. there. the wind ought to have stopped. simple as that. as before, if it doesn't, keep at it. it takes two or three trys before you can really get it on command.
Now that you have the basics, go and have fun! you can work on your wind strength by doing excersizes numbered one and two, and you can get better control by doing excersizes numbered three through six. If you want to do this in more places, try steps one through four in diferent places after you've gotten rather good at them in your place.
try to get an even amount of ability on both strenght and control. after all, you don't want really strong wind with no way to control it, and you don't want precision accurracy with just a light whisp of air.
