make homemade rootbeer

I had made it a priority to keep my eyes peeled while out in the woods lately to try to find/identify sassafras trees. Magically they seem to be popping up where weeks before they did not exist! Step one accomplished. I’ve been thinking about this for years and may just go ahead and plant. If I had bought some young trees and planting them years back, the roots would be ready to harvest now! In the meantime I can use extract for this first batch, so I have something to compare the real stuff to anyway.
