open my own business

I know WHAT i want to do, just not exactly how im gonna get the money i need to open a auto “custom” shop that deals w/ high performance engine/chassis building as well as car audio. Banks are holding onto money tighter than a nun’s fist and everyone else is broke…. I sure hope the economy comes back someday!

I am not sure what kind of business I would like to open. I have thought about a thrift store, used clothing store. I love to decorate for parties (wedding, retirement, etc.) so I am thinking about that type of business too.

I’m not sure I really want to do this now with Graphic Design. I just don’t feel as passionate about it as I should. I have so much to learn.

I decided I wanted to do some other things that would help me grow professionally as well as personally. I got a job at Humboldt State and have been living here in Arcata for the past year. It has def been a growing experience

My beloved husband and I have outgrown our tiny 876 sqft house, so we’re going to try to find a better home for ourselves first. Something we can stay in for a long time, and then see what happens… not giving up, just on hold for now!

I’ve been a custom cake-decorator for almost 20 years… diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes 1.5 years ago, kinda put a damper on that. BUT, I’ve learned that there’s a “plan” to a sugar-free bakery that I can purchase. My husband and I are going to visit in 2 weeks, and then I can decide… there’s SO much to think about, it’s a bit overwhelming.

For quite some time now, I have dreamed of opening a chicken carry-out place locally. I think it was the fact that the Chicken Coop, who in my opinion made the best chicken wings in the world, closed two years ago and now I want to start a place with even better wings!!!

I had to do this because I am an Entrepreneurship major at college. We started with our own business plan and made it happen from there.. It was a t-shirt business with clever “inside jokes” related to the college I go to. It was a huge success :)
