How I did it: This book was strange and quite dark, not Jane Austen but very thought provoking. I was surprised by the domestic violence... made me think society has perhaps made some progress not to tolerate such things. |

How I did it: I have always known of Wuthering Heights,but never cared to read it until I saw the last half hour of the new masterpiece theater ' Wuthering Heights' with Tom Hardy.I was absolutly amazed by it that I started reading the book the next day.I could have read it in 3 days but I made myself spread it out over 2 weeks because I didn't want it to end.Needless to say I loved the book it was truly amazing to me. How I did it: I checked out the "Books on CD" from the library and ripped it onto my iPod. From there, I just listened to it whenever I had menial work like shoveling or during long car rides. 15 minutes here and 20 minutes here really adds up. Read how I did it…

All of the sudden, Wuthering Heights has gone from a book I just wanted to read ‘someday’ to something I have to read RIGHT NOW, I’m not sure why. I’m thinking it would be fun to listen to it on my ipod from a library cd instead of reading it since it might be easier for me to get through.
Jess is out of college for a month.

And I read the first few chapters on the plane yesterday. It’s pretty good, a little confusing. I’m going to watch one of the movies, probably nowhere near as good as the book, but maybe one of them will help me with the book.

so far, I’m on chapter four. it seems like a good book, but at the moment i can’t really wrap my head around it. i keep asking stupid questions.. and i get distracted really easily while reading. still, i have faith in the majority! it will be good! :D

After you’ve read the book, watch the movie. I’ve only seen the one with Ralph Fiennes, but it was wonderful.

I’ve read the story and I borrowed all three versions of the movie 1939, 1970, and 1992. I was thinking, “There should be another movie.” I have a great idea of a cast. Johnny Depp as Heathcliff (He just seems like he would fit the part well) Keira Knightly as Catherine (even though I can’t stand Kiera. Lol.) Patrick Wilson as Edgar Linton…uhm…and other people. Wouldn’t that be awesome??? Anyways. I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!! TOTALLY WORTH DOING!!!

I read the book non-stop for two days and completed it. I read all the background notes and chapter summaries from SparkNotes too to help make sure I was getting the entire gist of the story. It was EXCELLENT! I rented the 1992 movie and it was not very good. I think I will re-read this again sometime. What a great book!
I watched the 1939 version, now I'd like to read it!
