How I did it: I logged onto the website kiva.org and I registered. The registration process only took about two minutes to complete and it was easy. After I registered, I started browsing different profiles of people in need of money.I found an entrepreneur in Shahristan, Tajikistan - a country I never even heard of before. He's a farmer and needed $25 more dollars to complete his goal of reaching $1,000. I was the last person t… Read how I did it…

How I did it: Well, it wasn't exactly me who did it. efbq took care of it today with a donation towards an agricultural co-op in Peru. Felt good to pay it forward just a bit, now that we're just about out of the hole we got into while I was out of work. Read how I did it…

How I did it: Browsed through the listing and funded 4 entrepreneurs who I got a good feeling from. Most of the loans are re-paid so it's nice to think that my $100 can be re-donated to another loan and go on to help more people in the future. Read how I did it…

How I did it: Once I got myself into doing it, it was easy. I had decided to do it today, on Blog Action Day as Kiva is one of the organizations supporting the event. So when October 15th dawned (or actually a bit before that), I registered at Kiva.org, added some funds to my account ($50) via PayPal, and went searching for two loans to support with $25 each.Because I've lived my childhood in Senegal, I looked up two African entrepreneurs: one was an o… Read how I did it…

these days I ought to change this goal to “Ask for a microloan through Kiva.org.” instead of funding one…..
Just donated $100 to 4 different micro-loans. And by donated I mean as soon as it gets paid back I’m loaning it back out to another person and plan on keeping it up as those people need that $100 a lot more than I do.

Rather than build up any cushion, I fell back on it myself. Hopefully the employment situation will resolve itself well, and soon; I’ll be able to explore this further in 2009.

I just went to check on my Kiva account for the first time in a long while and realized that I had a $100 credit from repaid loans! So, I reloaned that money. How easy! Now, I have made a total of 11 loans. I love that I can so easily help more people without having to spend more money. What a great system. Also, I joined the Lending Librarians team.

My loan is partially repaid and I got an update from my “friends” in Cambodia. It will be repaid in full in a short time and I plan to rollover the repayment into another kiva loan. Considering this an ongoing thing, but marking it done to make room on my list.
