I used to do this, but I got caught up in busyness and haven’t for a while. I have no real excuse for this and am finally determined to get back on track!!

Ecclesiastes 3.8

There is also a time for love and hate, for war and peace.

Today’s Verses: 2 Peter 3.8-9

8Dear friends, don’t forget that for the Lord one day is the same as a thousand years, and a thousand years is the same as one day. 9The Lord isn’t slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost.

Todays Verses: 2 Peter 2.4-5

4God did not have pity on the angels that sinned. He had them tied up and thrown into the dark pits of hell until the time of judgment. 5And during Noah’s time, God did not have pity on the ungodly people of the world. He destroyed them with a flood, though he did save eight people, including Noah, who preached the truth.

Today’s Verses: 2 Peter 1.5-9
5Do your best to improve your faith. You can do this by adding goodness, understanding, 6self-control, patience, devotion to God, 7concern for others, and love. 8If you keep growing in this way, it will show that what you know about our Lord Jesus Christ has made your lives useful and meaningful. 9But if you don’t grow, you are like someone who is nearsighted or blind, and you have forgotten that your past sins are forgiven.

I have been reading Nehemiah recently. I like his perseverance and determination to stick to what he started, in spite of the distractions and obstacles. I need to be more focused like that.

I was looking at the entries I made on this 2 years ago and I decided not to delete this one. I haven’t been as faithful to this goal over the past 2 years. A lot has gone on and while He has been a part of my life and forever in my heart… For almost the last year His words have began collecting dust on the nightstand. Life has been covered in this haze. Every day slips by full of these negative feelings and I have to wonder where that feeling of gratitude has gone. When did I stop feeling blessed about all the things I have. Was it when life became easier, when a couple of my most desired prayers came true? When he delivered me from the life I once had that was full of stress, struggles and sadness? What kind of daughter am I to Him?

It’s times like this… when I feel like this… that I am so thankful for His love. I can go running back and know that His arms are wide open waiting to embrace me.

I am studying the beatitudes. They are actually quite deep. My goal is the read all the words in red in the bible by the end of the summer. I am reading the words in red because those are the words Jesus spoke and I want to understand his way of thinking.

i want to set my heart and soul to seek and love Jesus above everything and everyone else, but i find it difficult to not listen to worldly music, and to do my daily quiet time every day.
does anyone have any suggestions?
