eubielicious is reconsidering his goals for the next week...
We own a nice detached house in Mytholmroyd or Hebden Bridge and paid for it with cash – no mortgage. The house isn’t too big but has a nice small garden for our house rabbit and gives us both space in which to work and is close enough to the railway station as well as the moors.
(By the way, I have written this in present tense as this is the way in which goals are written for maximum impact!)

My dream and goal for when i graduate college is to live in an apartment or small house until i need more room for my family. I won’t move anywhere permanently until I have the money to pay for it in cash or build it gradually.

Buying a house in cash is my dream.
Since many people have done it, so can we.
People recourse to mortgage to make invsestment of expense (i.e. the rent). Every household contains hundreds of products and services that can be converted into INVESTMENT.
The concept is explained in detail on my website:

We have decided not to sell and move. SO we still have the mortgage, but we also still have the house.

We have listed the house with a real estate agent and should sell with no problem. The neighbours are also interested in buying it. Just depends on whether we get the right money for it.

When I bought my place, I got a 20 year mortgage. When I looked at my mortgage payment, I saw how much of my check was interest and how little was going towards the principle. So I cashed in some investments and paid it off. I probably missed on some tax advantages, but I can’t stand the thought of being in debt.

If we sell up and move we could probably manage this. It goes along with sorting out the job
