How to go to drama school
How I did it: From a UK perspective, there are currently 18 accredited drama course by the NCDT, that means these courses offer vocational training, to provide you the skills to be a professional actor.
After finishing A-Levels and taking a year to "find myself" I decided to audition for Drama School. The more you can apply to, the better. Alot of Drama Schools pick people not only for talent, but for many reasons, and so the more you apply to, the better your odds!!!
Drama School auditions are a very personal thing, so it's hard to offer any personal advice, but I'll do my best to answer any question!
Lessons & tips: - Give it time!! The more time you have to prepare monologues/songs, the better you'll feel.
- Get help. Tutors, instructors, friends!
- Get experience. Theres loads of amateur dramatics groups and experience in front of an audience is vital!
