This kind of goes along with my other goal of re-designing my website, but I added this as a separate goal because I’d like to revamp my physical portfolio – not just my digital portfolio. I have all my work in a stack on a shelf in the basement – collecting dust. My goal is to also create a PDF-based portfolio that I can hand to people on disk…ahhh one of these days it will happen.

I’ve been working on my portfolio on and off for quite some time now. It’s definitely time to push out all the stops, as I’m thinking about a career change very soon. I first want to eek out my online portfolio. My personal website has expired, and I have very little desire to renew it. So, I’m setting up on Behance. I’m super excited about the community aspect, and I think it will offer a lot of insight and opportunity, while remaining creative and professional.
I have chosen the projects I want to share, but now comes the difficult part – Taking care of all the details, printing more stuff, maybe mockups, layout of items, and most importantly taking photos. I would essentially like to treat this as a full photo shoot, with each photo fully styled, looking AWESOME.

I was showing my university student my portfolio which I used to be so proud of, and realized it is outdated crap and makes me look very new to the profession. I don’t know if I am planning to change jobs antime soon, but just like a resume, it is very important to alays keep it updated just in case!

I’ve edited the pics, made thumbs, and uploaded the whole mess onto my site. I’ve proofed it on another computer, as mine only wants to view the old page (I’ve reloaded it so many times that I’m sick of it), but I know it works and looks good to me. I may add one or two more pics later, but for now I’m done.
If anyone would like to check it out and let me know what they think, I’d appreciate it. The addy is:

The first pic should be of a man on a black horse, the caption is ‘Darren Chiacca and Windfall II, Rolex Kentucky 2006’. If it says ‘Dressage’ and has a close up of a bay horse, please let me know!
Thanks!

I need to update my online photo portfolio to add pictures from Rolex this year, as well as from some of the other shows this summer.
If anyone is interested in checking it out, here’s the direct link:

epic updating
i spent three hours updating my portfolio, which i haven’t even touched since october. i figured an up-to-date portfolio would be a good thing to bring to a job interview, so let’s hope all the effort was worth it.

This has been a work in progress for a long time but I’ve finally gotten to the point where I’m beginning to produce a consistent body of work as opposed to random school assignments. I have an idea of where I’m going with my work and have a friend who has helped me photograph what I’ve done so far. At this point, I just need to maintain.
