Now that I’m getting a divorce, I can re-open this goal. Woohoo!
How to get married in Las Vegas
How I did it: My husband and I decided we wanted to get married, and though we are both Catholic, we wanted a small civil ceremony before the big wedding. His parents had other ideas and offered to take us to Vegas to get married. How could someone pass that up?! We researched a lot of hotels and whatnot and eventually decided on the Stained Glass Wedding Chapel, right across from the Hard Rock hotel. I went with a pinup/rockabilly look and the intimate feel of the ceremony was amazing. Plus, we pretty much had our honeymoon right there! After a month of planning, the whole thing was amazing and totally worth it!
Lessons & tips: Do your research. This is not going to be our only wedding, so we didn't want to go "all out" for this ceremony. Look up other chapels that may not be so well-known in Vegas, especially those off the strip.
Resources: To book a vacation, I would recommend Southwest Vacations. I've used them a few times and love the convenience. Plus, I love flying Southwest.

...I eventually need to meet a guy and fall madly in love. Then I need him to be as impulsive and crazy as I am and just decide with me to take off to Vegas one weekend and get married in one of those Drive-throughs, preferably in fancy dress. Just for laughs.
I would also be open to a wedding on a yacht, beach, or possibly other beautiful/unusual location.
I just don’t want the whole white wedding – it would be hypocritical for one, given my views about religion. I just do not imagine a traditional church wedding to be any fun, in fact I imagine it to be a living hell. It would also be soppy. I hate all that sentimental soppy wedding stuff. I also hate white puffy sleeved dresses – and I don’t want a huge room full of people I barely know or like staring at me whilst I wear such a dress. And obviously, I do not want a man who would want any of those things.
I guess I just hope that if I ever do get married it will be something special, different, and… fun! And to someone who is special, different, and… fun!
I can dream.
And if you are reading this, Mr Right, if you are actually out there: I would like a Tiffany ring. And a big cake. Just saying.
brookeriley is in disbelief there's only 88 days til she's married!
Is the date of our wedding in Vegas. The wedding package has been booked, accommodation and flights all sorted. The day is flying around very quickly and feels all surreal!
My husband and I were together for 15 years prior to getting married. Once we decided it was time to jump the broom, we wanted to do something that was intimate and special for us. We had both been married before, so a big flashy hometown wedding was not interesting to us. Our families treated us as if we were married already anyway. We both enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas in the past, so we decided to make that our destination wedding plan. We had a few special friends that flew to Vegas to witness our ceremony at the Little Church of The West. The limo whisked us to the church where we had a very intimate wedding. The minister’s prayer and coordination of our vows was such a blessing. The limo returned us to the hotel. Later that night we attended Toni Braxton’s show at The Flamingo Hilton Hotel. Toni greeted us and sat on my husband’s lap while signing a song. We are both Toni Braxton fans and she added to the magic and excitement of getting married in Las Vegas. If we could do it all over…we would do it the same way.
Got Married in Vegas,
Pam & Ivan Wade
Houston, Texas
Yes no matter how many times I get made fun of. I did it. I got proposed to by my now current husband and we got married the same day in Vegas. It was gorgeous and beautiful. We went to the Little Chapel of the West and had an amazingly great wedding and it was fun, reasonable and stress free. I highly reccomend doing atleast once in your life time.
I never wanted to have (and plan and pay for) a large, extravagant wedding. I always said I just wanted to know where and when to show up in my dress and let someone else worry about the rest and that’s exactly what I got. When I tell people I got married in Vegas, they usually think I’m joking and then when they realize I’m not, they’re stunned. I think getting married in Vegas is one of those things you always hear about but don’t think anyone actually does. Then they usually ask me if I was married by Elvis, which I wasn’t. The pastor actually looked a lot like Kenny Rogers, but not in an intentional, impersonator way.
We got married at The Little White Chapel on 6th September 2006.
It’s a great place to get married and all the people there were very helpful and nice.
I really recommend it for a small wedding with your nearest and dearest, it took away a lot of the stress and really was the best day of our lives!!

Driving back to the east coast from living in Ca., stopped at a gas station and said; “What do you think of changing our route and stopping in Las Vegas to get married?”
