My gardener is also my lover. The garden gets better every year, and it is all him now. I just provided the space. I enjoy it immensely and offer moral support. A beautiful front garden is a joy for all.

Each year, I add a few more perennials and also put in annuals for the extra color. This year, I’ve worked harder at choosing perennials, so each year I’ll be able to spend less to have my garden be colorful and just add a few annuals. I also have planted many bulbs so my yard is pretty in spring. This is my third year working on this project. I need to maybe be a bit more organized about what I add where, though. Perhaps documenting what I have where is a separate item for my 43 things list…
Anyway, my goal is to entirely rid the main area of my yard from grass—well, weeds, really since there is very little grass that actually grows there. And in its place have a lovely garden with little paths to walk through it and perhaps a bench. So, each year I dig up a little more of the grass area and expand to expand the garden beds.
I also have quite a collection of pots that I fill with flowers and other plants and put small groupings of them in various spots around the yard. I intend to continue doing that, so even when the garden take the entire front yard, there will be spots left for the pots in summer.
