Ever since I first saw gmail and google suggest I thought this new (then acronymnless) thing was just the kick in the ass the web needed. I tried a few times to make it all work before the groovy new javascript libraries were available with no joy.
Now I’m using jQuery for a few things and have a real understanding of how and where I can use AJAX on a real live project I’m working on.
I just purchased jQuery in Action which is a clean easy to read explanation of jQuery. So far I’ve been able to perform some minor javascript magic but no actual AJAX.
AJAX is just so…cool. Fun. Useful. Something that someone who fancies herself a web designer should probably know.
I recommend reading about great JavaScript libraries, which really make Ajax development easier. My favourite is jQuery, it’s amazing.

I have been spending some free time working with javascript and JSON the last few days. I have to say that it is quite interesting. I am starting to get a little deeper into AJAX now. Did someone mention XHttpRequest?

I’ve spent the last several weeks going through training videos for various AJAX/Web 2.0 technologies. I’m pretty impressed with Microsoft’s implementation. Flex was kinda boring to me but some aspects of it seems cool. I’m just now getting into RoR so not sure yet how I’ll like it…
