How to complete a scrapbook by vwruleschick

"Scrapbooking is a great way to capture special moments in life and visually reflect them to allow oneself to relive the moment briefly."

How I did it: First, always have a theme. For instance, a wedding scrapbook or friends scrapbook (events in the past year), favorite memories, family events.

Then get all the pictures printed (on your own printer or from a local photoshop or Costco)

The last scrapbook I created was a small 8"x8" book with photos from a friend's doggies (Rocco & Coco). The pages involved the doggies and special events such as their birthday, fashion shows, Hallowe'en, Christmas, New Year's and profile pages for each of the doggies.

My friend was thrilled when she got book to cherish her doggies (and it will be a great keepsake when they do pass on)

Lessons & tips:

  • give yourself lots of time to create the pages
  • pick a theme, easier to handle (whether is something like events or even simply just colors)
  • get all your supplies ready
  • have a clear area to spread out
  • have all your photos ready (printed)

How I did it: I went out and bought all my supplies and had them in a box in my room. Whenever I had a few hours of free time I would take out pictures and start laying out pages. Eventually I got the pictures in the order I wanted them and started putting pages together.It took a while, but I finally finished it! I gave it to my boyfriend for Christmas and he really liked it.I plan on adding pages every so often whenever we get some pictures of us. Read how I did it…

    alright so i finished 5 pages and i think thats enough for christmas, and then i’ll keep adding pages for my moms birthday and mother’s day and such. i can’t really call it “finished” but i’m not going to focus on this goal as much anymore.

    Last night I finished “The Beach”. I’m buying better adhesives today and then I’ll be able to attach the letters to two more pages and then I’ll have 8 pages done and 12 left to finsih before christmas… I really slacked off.

    i finally started a scrapbook that i will finish, its one of my partner of myself and he loves it so far, which isgreat motivation to keep going with it.
    I try and fit it in when i get the opportunity around work and paperwork. Its a great way to chill out and just relax for a while too, so im really enjoying it.

    I finished two pages today, “Bath Time!” and “Sunflowers”, for my mom’s Christmas present. The only problem is that I can’t use the original pictures so i have to buy photo paper and print copies before I can officially finish any pages. At the start of the next month I’ll get photo paper then post some pictures.

    I finished the scrapbook about my trip to Japan. Now I am working on 2 books for my favorite nieces (as a surprise!) and a book about my trip to Mexico and a book about my trip to Europe in 2007. I will also be making an abbreviated version of the Europe book for my brother.
