Missed last night 2 years ago

and will be missing Saturdays class due to moving home. Just as I was getting back into the swing of it too. Still moving all my stuff should be exercise aplenty and there’s always monday.

I admit it 2 years ago

I’ve been slack on this. I really struggled to get back into capoeira after my injury break. My fitness level was rubbish and I couldn’t hack the intermediate/advanced lessons and the beginners lessons started to soon after I finished work. Well at least they were the excuses in my head. However the last two weeks I’ve pushed myself to go and am feeling much fitter. I have wonderful/horrible muscle ache in my legs today.

    Phew! 3 years ago

This weekend saw the 2nd Norwich Batizado. Despite having the tail end of a cold I trained hard all weekend and Sunday saw me getting my Orange (3rd) Cordao. Now I’m just waiting for the muscle ache.

Saturday hurt alot 3 years ago

Friday night saw me out on the town celebrating my good friend Jamie’s birthday. More than a few drinks were consumed in Bedfords and so for a few of us, Carol, Sam and me, it suddenly seemed like a very good idea to not end the night at 1 when Bedfords closed but to continue the night by dancing and drinking some more at Mustard. Turns out it was a house night but we were so determined to have a good night we went in anyway. More drinking followed and an hour or so of trying to convince ourseleves we were enjoying the music. We finally gave up and went back to Carol’s house at about 3. At this point I decided I was far to tired to do anything else and stayed the night. We convinced ourselves we’d be awake in the morning for capoeira.

At 10:30 I managed to drag myself out of bed and get dressed rather quickly. A brief conversation with Carol and Sam revealed that yet again they were gonna be lazy bastards. Me, I wasn’t gonna give up on capoeira. So I jumped on my bike cycled the mile and a half home, had a big bowl of porridge, packed my bag and cycled the mile and half bag to capoeira managing to only be ten minutes late.

That first half hour of training was hell, as would be expected, but I trained through it. The only really dodgy bit being when we had to do au and bananeira (cartwheels and headstands). By the end I felt alot better. Which was a bloody good thing because I then had to cycle 4 miles to go and visit my mum while she was at a nearby dog agility show.

This is a biggy 3 years ago

I’ve been playing capoeira for about 21 months now and its a big part of my life. I thought it was about time I added this as a proper goal. Capoeira has become my goal and my motivation for so many things in my life and deserves its own entries. They’ll be more to follow.
