I would love to go to this workshop
I have no idea what I’d be doing but it would be fun!

Another period of unemployment leads to progress in watercolor painting. I have another newer, better work than this that I have not scanned yet. Something to look forward to. I am told that I’m like most artists, in that most of my work does not meet my own standards. But I love the process, so perhaps I am onto something good here.

for paints and an art class. I haven’t had any reasons for not doing this sooner except a lack of interest in living a balanced life.
It was so much easier to veg out in front of the TV and dream about being creative. Then I had the realization that everyone I was watching were actors being paid to do what they love…that shook me out of my mental coma. ;)
I got started on this goal over the summer while I was out of work and completed a handful of paintings. In progress is a series based on the Six Realms in Buddhism: Hungry Ghost, Jealous God, Hell, Animal, God, & Human. I’ve completed the first three. I use very thick mixes of paint almost like using acrylic. The paintings are bold and do not take full advantage of the translucent properties of watercolor but I like them. The image attached is “Jealous God”. I have less time to paint these days since I am back to work full-time. Also, I have not yet solidified an image in mind that I want to use for Animal Realm….perhaps I’ll need to move onto God or Human in the series first.

with the rest of my life. I feel like I am living in limbo.
I haven’t found an art store here yet but I’m sure they have one. Artists from all over the world come here to work.
Where is the closest Michaels anyway?

I had for not painting was lack of space. We have a cute 2 bedroom place but B has the 2nd bedroom as his office leaving me with the rest of the house. In theory that sounds nice but there was no space for me for my creative projects.
We found a perfect desk that will make a great work table for my painting. At first B was going to use it as a keyboard stand but then he decided not to use it and just moved it into the living area blocking the front door. This morning I put it in the corner of the dining area and it fits perfectly.
This is exciting…

I gave my darling granddaughter her very first set of brushes, water color paints and a pad of watercolor paper so we can learn to water color paint together.
She is 6. She is going to paint masterpieces :)
