balance empathy and logic

Sometimes I feel I over empathize. Though I do not think that is so bad as mostly I choose to be like that, I feel sometimes that those to whom I have demonsrated my empathy tend to see me as a pushover. Baing taken advantage of because of my desire to empathise is really me concern. I wonder if this can be resloved.
