Oogyboogawa- God's T-Shirt Man is in Wisconsin now!?

Back to basics 2 years ago

It’s time to go for this goal again. I go disvouraged and sidetracked for a while, but it’s time to get back to what I should’ve never stopped.

Oogyboogawa- God's T-Shirt Man is in Wisconsin now!?

Working on the first chapter now 2 years ago

I typed out the first chapter in Word. I did it myself rather than just looking it up on my computer and then copying/pasting it so that it would be implanting it in my mind that much more. Anyway, after that, I printed it out so that now I’ve got it on a single piece of paper I can carry around with me and look at once in a while even in times when it would be hard to carry my whole Bible around with me(like if I’m wandering around in the woods doing stuff or something).

I’ve read it out loud to myself a bunch of times, and am kind of starting to get it already. I can remember the first part of the chapter, and I can normally remember what part comes next, I just can’t really remember the exact words yet.

Between time wasted not even trying to memorize verses and the fact that I lost a lot of the ones I had memorized when I lost my memory, I’ve got a lot of time to make up for, so I’m going to try to devote quite a bit of time to this.

Someone mentioned last night in our Wednesday night Bible study that if you took all the members of an “average” church and wrote down all of the verses any of them had memorized, it probably wouldn’t fill more than a few pages. That really made me think. I’m sure John 3:16 would be on there over and over, but what about the next two verses. They’re pretty good too… would they even be on there?

I think not only does memorizing scripture give it a more intimate and personal meaning, but it doesn’t do much good if we are trying to talk to someone about the Lord and we can’t find or remember the verses to back up our statements.

Alright, I guess I’ll stop ranting at myself now…
