Get People to participate in the 2006 Dewey Donation System Book Drive for Gulf Coast Libraries

but I clicked on the wrong spot…did other things more directly for relatives… so now we are uncomfortably in hurricane season and it’s been three years since Rita and Katrina…I’d like to go back to New Orleans…it’s been years maybe 8 years..

Thanks to everyone who joined me in this goal—we really did some good! I still have the URL of the Book drive saved and will go back periodically and send another book or two. Hope others will too! Thanks again for joining me!

When I checked the mail yesterday, I was thrilled to see a thank you card from the Pass Christian Library! I really like this project.

Today, I ordered four books for the Pass Christian Library – three books on mythology (inspired by my goal to study mythology) and one that they recently added to their list about the aftermath of Katrina. I am also trying to see if the library at my agency (small specialty library with some popular topics) might be able to donate some of our less-frequently checked-out, good condition materials that we need to weed from the collection anyway. I may not be able to accomplish that but I can at least try, right?

I bought them a bunch of cookbooks from their Amazon wish list :)

To the Biloxi Library via Amazon and also sent an email to my friends (also big readers) letting them know how they can help.

Two books to Biloxi today. Books add so much to my life, and I can’t imagine what my childhood would have been like without the haven of the local library.
