Right now, I’m reading The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes on dailylit.com. I’ve completed 70% of this collection and plan to read the remaining two once I’ve finished.
Of the Sherlock Holmes novels, I’ve read The Sign of Four. I plan to read Doyle’s other three Holmes novels once I’ve completed all of the short stories.

The first time when I was about 11 or 12, and I was so in love with Sherlock Holmes! Ha ha ha
I red all the stories again 4 years ago and still love them, but not Sherlock anymore!

Start with one of the short stories, then look for more books, and finally get a complete compendium of all the books in one to fill in the corners.

...take a look at the literature that the original 60 stories has inspired. Literary criticism, parodies, pastiches, plays, movies, TV & radio shows, not to mention The Baker Street Journal and The Baker Street Blog.
It’s a wonderful world of Sherlockian interests out there – you’ll meet the most interesting people who celebrate one of the greatest friendships in literature.

If you still dont have a copy of all the Sherlock Holmes stories, then I suggest you get the Barnes and Noble edition . It has got all 56 short stories and 4 novels; it is leather-bound and the pages are gilded in gold. It has some typographical error, though, but I’ve noticed that Signet has some typos too.
I never thought that I’d be able to finish the whole book. I just started reading one story a night, and at the end of 2 months,I just realized that I was down to my very last story. (Bummer. Now where do I turn to just to forget about my drab life here in TX!)
Sherlock is quite a loveable character. (And Watson too). Yeah, he can be an arrogant prig most of the time, but one has to admit that he has the mad skills to back up his words.

...is that he himself didn’t rank it as highly as his other fiction, and quite accomplished some of that is. But Holmes and Watson are still the icons they ever were, and even where some stories drag a bit, their atmosphere - which, after all, weren’t initially meant to be nostalgic but contemporary stories - remains strong. I’ve only ever read through them all once, but it was worth it, and I dip into individual stories now and again.

I might do it, some day, but I’m not sure.

One of my all time favorite authors!!! If you like any of the Holmes stories then your passion for them will grow the more of them you read.Ironically, you’ll also notice that your own acute eye for details will actually improve the more of them you read. Just a little known fact. ;p ENJOY!!!!!
Two of my favorite Holmes quotes are:
My mind rebels at stagnation. Give me problems, give me work, give me the most abstruse cryptogram or the most intricate analysis, and I am in my own proper atmosphere. I can dispense then with artificial stimulants. But I abhor the dull routine of existence. I crave for mental exaltation.

This far, I’ve read “A Study In Scarlet” and am running through “The Sign Of Four”. The stories are great, yet bear some weird marks like so many stories written about 125 years ago, such as the dialogue and events taking place when dialogue appears.
