loveanavrin the more i see, the less i know -- john lennon
I split a majority of my hours between two places—the Richmond Community Action Program and the Community Health Education Center at MCV Hospital. RCAP was an amazing experience; I know it sounds petty but helping people with so much less than you really puts a lot of things into perspective. I met a lot of amazing people, as well as learned a lot about what the city lacks as far as programs and funding to help people break the cycle of poverty. I really enjoyed volunteering at MCV as well, learning hospital protocol. In addition, it was a great experience to add to my application to radiology school. To finish up the extra hours I worked at the Central Virginia Foodbank (painting faces at a CVFB Festival) and the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program (helping to organize the bicycle drive).
