Managed to land this gig by being a regular at the karaoke bar. ugh… The current hostess was trying to get pregnant and asked if I’d be interested in making some extra cash. I was, and the job was damn lucrative. It was a fun and very rewarding experience. I learned patience and service industry skills. I never worked serving food or cocktails before until I did this job 3 nights a week, on top of my regular day-job. I was always a good tipper, but I’m even better now. I feel the hostess’ pain. Drunkards are the hardest people to deal with.

This wasn’t actually a goal of mine. I just sort of fell into it. I’ve hosted karaoke off and on since I was 23 (oh, my….it’s been 13 years….) and it’s usually been fun. I’ve worked as a contractor and as a bar employee, but never owned my own system.
Best of luck to you with this. It shouldn’t be hard to check off your list!
